Menopause and Mocktails. A Red Hot Revolution!

Jan 22, 2019 | Menopause & Meetups

Over the last couple of months, women have told me that they’re bored and uninspired by the way information about the menopause is presented. They’re bored of the dull and uninteresting articles, fed up of the meno-moaning media and desperate to find new ways to learn about it. So with that in mind, I created the Menopause and Mocktails Monthly Meet-ups.  These marvellous meet-ups are a way for women to rebel against society’s’ negative view of the menopause and to spend some much-needed time away from their daily grind.  And they get to do it in the company of other women, in a supportive and social upbeat environment, whilst learning how to tame this most meddlesome of mistresses. What’s not to love?

The meet-ups are starting February, the first being on the evening of Tuesday 12th, at the gorgeous (and newly refurbished) Old House Hotel in Wickham, and the second on the evening of Tuesday 19th at one of Southsea’s most loved pubs, The Wave Maiden in Osbourne Road.

Both events will run respectively on the second and third Tuesday of every month, with venues in Southampton and Winchester hopefully being added soon.

What are they all about?

These meetups have been created to challenge the outdated view that menopausal women need to hide and suffer in silence. Instead, they are a social way to learn how to defy the menopause and master your midlife mindset.

You’ll be able to sup mocktails and all manner of lovely beverages while finding new ways to cope with the crappy effects of the menopause. You can connect, network, socialise, laugh and share your experiences in a positive environment with other women, who also want to leave their mid-life mess and muddle behind!

There will be a short talk about a menopause or mid-life-related topic, hints, tips, and strategies on how to cope with the big M, guest speakers as well as time to meno-mingle (lol) and have fun.

Who are they for?

They’re for any woman, of any age, experiencing the effects of the menopause and who wants their mojo back!  They are perfect for you if:

  • The effects of the peri-menopause/menopause are getting you down
  • You’re stuck in a hormonal hell hole and you’ve got no idea how to get out
  • You want to rediscover your zest for life, feel empowered and embrace this tricky life stage
  • You’re craving sisterhood and want to share your journey with others who won’t think you’re mad!

So, if you’re struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel, come along and see what it’s all about. Bring a friend (or three) and together you can make the menopause your b*itch and show her who’s boss!

Duck Off!
